Bespoke Database Solutions
In addition to mailing and telephone list supression services, UKMM also undertake bespoke database work. Some examples of the work we have provided to our existing clients include:-
Database Deduping
After signing a non disclosure agreement we would take your database and run a number of deduping processes. This may be based on your choice of unique field or ID, or we would create one for you by concatenating (joining) more than one field with another e.g. surname and post code. Deduping may be used for the straight forward removal of duplicate records, creating one record per address or institution, or merging the best information from one record with information from another where certain information is missing.
Database Appending / Consolidation
This is sometimes necessary when your data is held in multiple files and/or where your mailing campaign requires additional information prior to segmentation.
Database Analysis / Trend Analysis / Sales Analysis
We can analyse any part of your data and report back in a concise and ordered fashion. We can:-
- provide answers to specific questions via database queries
- run trend analysis reports
- produce pivot tables so that you can manipulate your data in a more user friendly way
In fact you would be surprised at what we can do with your data. MS Access and MS Excel skills are our speciality!
Data Formating
This covers a multiple of things from:-
- changing capitalisation to upper and lower case
- tidying up of odd characters and rogue spacing
- suppressing blank records
- flagging incomplete records for follow up
In fact it’s all the messy little jobs that need doing to get your database in tip top working order – particularly useful if you have data captured from client based direct entry forms.
Data Segmentation
UKMM can assist you in segmenting your databases in order to send focussed and relevant communications. We can help you promote the right product to the right target, without the costly investment of a CRM system.

Mailing List Cleaning
UKMM can reduce your mailing costs by ensuring that the data you use for your mailing campaign is as fresh and up-to-date as possible, and complies with industry best practice. UKMM can run your data against the following suppression files: PAF, MPS, NCOA, Gone Away, The Bereavement Register and other Mortality files.
Telephone List Cleaning
Unlike postal mailings, telephone campaigns must meet stringent legal requirements. All data must be run through the latest version of TPS (Telephone Preference Service) which is updated every 28 days. This now extends to companies through the Corporate TPS.
